7th Grade Field Trip Program

Discover by Doing!

Students engage in life-changing learning in our facility for a day of phenomenon-based marine science on Commencement Bay.

About the program:

For the 2025-2026 school year, every 7th grade student from Tacoma Public Schools is invited to the Seaport for a day of hands-on marine science, engineering, and history! Students will get to participate in a plankton monitoring program, work in our Heritage Boat Shop, and explore the maritime history of our region with a hands-on guided tour.

Are you a teacher or homeschool group looking to book a field trip at Foss Waterway Seaport? Visit our Field Trip page to see our list of offerings for you class!

This program is a partnership between Tacoma Public Schools and the Foss Waterway Seaport. Funding comes from grants secured by the Foss Waterway Seaport and private donations. Looking to contribute? Donate here!
